The rising unemployment crisis in our country may become one of the biggest issues of 2009. So, for a date as to when the economic crisis will end...maybe by the first quarter of 2010. There was such a diversity of things to do and see and the people were so friendly and helpful. I loved Altos De Chavon at Casa De Campo. It is an amazing replica of a 16th village with shops, restaurants, lovely grounds and a huge amphitheatre where they have music. I also made my donation, but with hours of fun, at the newly opened casino. They also have a sports bar there. This is a great way to share information so I'll have other ideas for my next trip back! The sailing community that is a part of my world LOVES the DR and what has happened with the expansion project creating this wonderful destination. Casa de Campo is phenomenal and I have just been doing some research about the Marina and Yacht Club that was inaugurated in 2001 and designed by Italian architect Gianfranco Fini.
Marina Casa de Campo has lots of shopping, fantastic restaurants and bars, a great yacht club with sailing school and a little tidbit I found interesting… with its new expansion completed in 2006 it included a shipyard that is the largest in the Caribbean.
