Buying your second or third homes are not just happening in the Caribbean.  We have now discovered that many of our clients are buying in Italy, too.

Timbers Resorts, a leader in the emerging category of luxury, boutique resorts are completing the final work on beautifully restored and reconstructed farmhouse villas on 4,200 acres in the Tuscan region of Italy near Siena.  For those who are wanting to enjoy the Tuscan lifestyle, Castello di Casole  is a five-star luxury resort and residence club.  These villas are being painstakingly restored and reconstructed to their original charm and further enhanced with modern amenities.

The Castello di Casole residences are organized around a series of glass-tiled, infinity-edge pools and hand-set stone patios complete with wood-burning ovens.  Outside and in, one can trace the centuries across the hand-set loggias, terracotta vaulted ceilings and attention to exacting detail which makes each villa an individual expression of art and architecture. The farmhouse villas range from 3 to 5 bedrooms and include a private infinity-edged pool, with 4,000 to 7,000 square feet of living space.  Furnishings are a collection of the finest interior appointments from local artisans and antiques gathered from throughout the region.

Located within easy access to Siena and Florence, this historic estate is also home to the 18th century Castello, opening in spring of 2010 as an intimate 41-suite, plus luxurious penthouse, hotel. Formal and casual dining venues, terraces, pools, artisan shops and a world-class spa and fitness center will be available for an Owner’s enjoyment

Jim, buongiorno da Bella Toscana!

Thank you for the wonderful feature here on Castello di Casole. It was such a pleasure to meet you in Paris and I am so thrilled that you are spreading the ‘Castello’ word amongst your readers.

For anyone wishing to celebrate an authentic Tuscan lifestyle, this opportunity for home ownership (in what is considered the ‘heart and soul’ of Italy) is truly unmatched. Most definitely, ownership at Castello di Casole represents a once in a lifetime opportunity.

It’s almost two years since I started working on the project as Ownership Representative and I am honored to be a part of the remarkable lifestyle that we are creating for our owners. Tuscany in itself is magical but what Castello di Casole offers is uniquely special. So much more than ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ without the hassle, if you will.

In addition to the limited number of beautifully restored and reconstructed villas, the estate will be home to an all suites boutique hotel opening in March of 2010 and an exclusive vintners club, in partnership with a master Tuscan wine maker whose family produces the world renown “Sassicaia’ supertuscan.

Picture this Jim: Imagine waking up in your beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse villa, views of the rolling and pristine Tuscan countryside all around, a leisurely breakfast under the pergola on your outside terrace, then perhaps a visit to one of the many medieval towns in the area (Siena, San Gimignano, Montalcino) for some art, culture a bit of shopping, then a fabulous Tuscan lunch in a local trattoria complete with a fine chianti, then back to the estate for a relaxing hour or two at the luxurious hotel spa or a bike ride through the countryside, maybe a walk through one of the estate’s vineyards (where a row is dedicated in your family name), and later back to your villa for a dinner prepared by your private chef and accompanied by your own private label wine…..

For those who wish to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture, history and traditions that the region offers PLUS enjoy the benefits of home ownership, no need to look further.

Grazie mille Jim. I look forward to welcoming you to Toscana on your next trip across the pond, and raising a glass (or several) with you!

Ciao, Marina

WOW! Thanks for checking in, Marina! What more can I say. How fun to get a first hand report as to what you are experiencing at Castillo di Casole. Until next time…fair winds!

I spent Christmas ‘08 at Castello di Casole with my family and can say that it’s all Marina describes and more. We stayed in two casales (villas) Escaiole and La Casa over 10 days, and spent our days touring the local medieval towns and our evenings savoring Tuscan food and wine. It was my second trip to Castello di Casole and my family’s first, and we were all overwhelmed with the quality of the casale reconstruction and the professional services provided by the Timbers staff. I was so impressed that I am considering buying an interest in one of the casales under construction so I can spend more time savoring the “Tuscan lifestyle”!
